Strange Pathways 1992

Still moving but getting nowhere.
Still living, but slowly dying.
Still laughing, but quietly crying.
Still winning, but somehow losing.
Still running, but standing still.

An Enigma 1992

It is not seen, nor heard;
It cannot be touched, yet it touches many;
It never lives alone, but it causes others to;
It is everywhere, but hidden well;
It lives in many and many live in it.
Answer: Loneliness

The Rainbow 1992

The storm hits hard,
trouble is all around,
but that which remains
stands on solid ground.
The winds blow strong,
and rain pours down,
but that which remains
stands on solid ground.
Floods fill the heart
causing great pain.
But with out any struggle
what strength would be gained?
So let the storms come
for what follows, I know...
After the rain,
comes His lovely rainbow.

A Prayer for my friend 1989

Dear Heavenly Father, up above;
I pray you’re looking down in love;
and listen to my desperate plea,
and save my friend from her misery.
Reach down and touch her, softly Lord.
let her know, there’s blessings in store;
for faithfully serving and trusting you,
I know that you can see her through.
Give her strength, Lord each new day,
To keep trusting in you, Lord, this I pray.
Some way, somehow... let her know,
that you're right there beside her, never to go.

Seek Thee First 1988

Searching for answers, so hard to find.
So many questions, so little time.
In the midst of silence, my heart stands still.
Longing for comfort and Gods chosen will.
Scared of change, and what it might bring;
Content with what was, “the same old thing”.
Looking to God and wanting to know,
His plan for my life, which way I should go.
I reach for strength, to hope in the best;
Knowing through Christ, I can pass any test.
So, I lay down those worries that clutter my mind,
Seeking Christ first and His Kingdom I’ll find.

Risk 1988

With every step we take in life, involves a little thought.
And things that have the highest value, are things that can’t be bought.
Everywhere we turn, decisions must be made;
and with decisions comes a risk, a price that must be paid.
Decision making is never easy, nor is the risk of feeling pain.
But "nothing ever ventured means nothing ever gained."
To chose or not to chose is a decision we have to make;
But if we fail to take the risk, later may be too late.
Good things never come easily and appreciation we often hide.
It seems as though we’re searching for greener grass on the other side.
Have we become so blind to the treasures we hold in our hands;
and so easily gullible to our growing selfish demands?
We fixate on the search to find the ideal prize;
And risk overlooking, what’s right before our eyes.

God's Promise 1988

Life has no promises, nor satisfaction in fame;
No glory in riches, nor power to claim.
Men may forsake us and friends turn away;
Plans we have made might go the wrong way.
Things we desire and possessions thought to last,
come and go quickly, as time moves so fast.
There’s no guarantee in this life that we live,
and no lasting gifts that man has to give.
There’s only one hope when things go wrong;
To give us strength, to keep holding on.
There’s only on friend, who’s righteous and true,
though others may fail us, He always comes through.
With Christ, we have hope, for each new day,
and His promise of joy, if we trust and obey.
So as trials come, remember God's word...
He'll never leave or forsake us, His promise is good.
