Wake Up, My Child 1994

Your eyes are open, but you can't see.
I speak to you, but you don't listen.
I hear your prayer, but you don't like my answer.
I feel your pain, but you won't let me comfort.
I know your emptiness, but you won't let me in.
I touch you, but you are numb.
I am with you, but you think you're alone.
I am the music, but you won't sing.
I am the water, but you won't drink.
I am the food, but you won't eat.
I am the way, but you keep wandering.
I am the truth, but you won't believe.
I am the life, but you gamble it away.
I am alive, but you are asleep.
I am real, but you want to dream.
Wake up, my child,
before the nightmare.

The Lonely Road 1994

Oh, how empty it is:
For those who live their life,
yet are dead inside.
For those who work to gain,
yet lose their soul.
For those who hurry to and fro,
yet never 'arrive'.
For those that want purpose,
yet seek not to find it.
For the eyes that see,
but are blind;
For the ears that hear,
but don't listen.
For the mind that seeks knowledge,
but doesn't recognize truth.
And for the heart that beats,
but has no room for love.

A Quest to Find God 1993

Within the shadows of myself,
lies a mystery unsolved...
Beyond the boundaries of my understanding,
wisdom awaits to be found.
Locked inside without a key,
peace remains a stranger at the door.
Beneath my standing, lies a path unseen.
While up above, there is a God.
What will I see, within the shadows of me?
Where can I go, to gain wisdom to know?
How can I tread, on a path unled?
When will I find, peace of mind?
When shall I see, the God above me?
Pushing past shadows of self-made chaos;
cluttered closets & distorted reflections.
I step out in search of truth & love.
Listening for wisdom to speak in the wind.
Holding on to what I find, and not let it slip through my fingers.
Moving forward, testing the steps of uncertainty,
that lead down narrow roads that define risk and loneliness,
In search of forgiveness, peace...and God.

Only For A Moment 1993

Only for a moment,
we were happy and in love.
Only for a moment,
we were living our dreams.
Only for a moment,
nothing seemed impossible.
Only for a moment,
did I believe you'd never leave.
Only for a moment,
will I feel the pain of being wrong.
But for a lifetime,
I will remember you.
